Healthy, balanced meals are freshly prepared each day by our nursery chef right on the premises. We are dedicated to offering nutritious, home-cooked food that children love, promoting good eating habits and supporting their well-being.
Sensory Room
Our dedicated Sensory Room provides a calming and immersive environment where children can engage their senses in a safe and stimulating way. This space is particularly beneficial for children who may need additional sensory support.
Age Groups
3 months -5 years olds
At Hearts Chingford, the room organisation and age groupings ensure that all children have plenty of time and space to explore, play, and learn, but most of all, to enjoy their day!
Our skilled practitioners fully understand the varying needs of children and the changing requirements as children develop.
When children first come to the nursery, we encourage parents to spend as much time as they need, helping to settle their child in. These settling in sessions are free of charge and organised a month before your child's start date.
How do we plan for your child's learning?
Each child will be dedicated a Key Person, to ensure that all of their requirements are met.
You can always be assured that you and your child will meet a familiar face at the start of every day. In addition to each child's individual communication book, our staff will value the time they have to give feedback to each family.
Our staff members are trained to plan for your child's individual learning needs. Staff will observe and identify strengths, development needs, and interests and build on these through weekly plans. We encourage you to contribute to these plans in various ways, including our 'At home observation forms'. These enable you to record observations on your children at home and in various situations. Our practitioners can use these to identify areas of learning and use this information to extend your child's learning at nursery.

Baby Room
Our Baby Room is a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment designed to support your little one’s earliest stages of development. Our experienced and caring team provides personalised attention, ensuring each baby feels safe, secure, and loved.
The space is thoughtfully designed with underfloor heating, cosy sleeping areas, and age-appropriate sensory toys to encourage exploration and early learning. From tummy time to sensory play, we focus on activities that support physical, cognitive, and emotional development at every stage.
A gentle daily routine, including music, storytelling, and interactive play, helps babies feel comfortable and engaged. We also work closely with parents to follow home routines as much as possible, ensuring a smooth transition between nursery and home life.
With a focus on comfort, care, and early development, our Baby Room provides a loving environment where your little one can grow, discover, and thrive.
Toddler Room
Our Toddler Room is a lively and engaging space designed to support the curiosity and boundless energy of young explorers. At this stage of development, children are eager to learn, socialize, and gain independence, and our carefully planned environment helps them do just that.
With a variety of age-appropriate toys, interactive learning stations, and sensory activities, toddlers are encouraged to explore and develop essential skills through play. Our daily routine includes a balance of free play, group activities, music, storytelling, and outdoor adventures, all designed to foster language development, social skills, and problem-solving abilities.
We also introduce early learning concepts, such as colors, numbers, and shapes, in a fun and engaging way, laying the foundation for future learning. Our caring team supports each child’s emotional growth, helping them develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
The Toddler Room is a space where curiosity is encouraged, friendships are formed, and every day is filled with exciting new discoveries.
Preschool Room
Our Preschool Room is designed to prepare children for their next big step—starting school! This dynamic and engaging space encourages independence, problem-solving, and a love for learning through a mix of structured activities and child-led exploration.
With a focus on early literacy, numeracy, and social skills, our preschool curriculum introduces key concepts through storytelling, hands-on activities, and interactive play. Children are encouraged to express their creativity, think critically, and develop confidence in their abilities.
The room is equipped with learning stations, role-play areas, and sensory experiences that support cognitive development while making learning fun. Our experienced team ensures each child is nurtured at their own pace, fostering resilience, teamwork, and a positive attitude towards learning.
By the time children leave our Preschool Room, they are confident, curious, and well-prepared for the transition to primary school, with strong foundations in both academics and social development.
Our Sensory Room
At Hearts Day Nursery, we understand the importance of sensory exploration in early childhood development. Our dedicated Sensory Room provides a calming and immersive environment where children can engage their senses in a safe and stimulating way.
Designed to support children of all abilities, our sensory room features soft lighting, interactive textures, soothing sounds, and engaging visual displays to promote relaxation, focus, and sensory discovery. This space is particularly beneficial for children who may need additional sensory support, helping them develop fine motor skills, cognitive growth, and emotional regulation.
Whether it’s through the gentle glow of fiber-optic lights, the comforting feel of sensory mats, or the interactive bubble tubes, our sensory room encourages children to explore, play, and learn in a uniquely engaging setting.

The nursery is closed on Public holidays, between Christmas and New Year, and two days a year for staff training.
